You’ve set up your new web design business, and you’ve gotten a brand spanking new website to offer your expertise in building and developing websites. So how do you let the world know about your unsurpassed skills and services?

To promote your web design freelance business, you can start by setting your sights on your local community. Is there an event like a charity run or a jumble sale organized by the local SPCA? Perhaps you can offer to build a website for them, absolutely free of charge! Yes you heard me right: F.O.C ! But why, you ask. The answer is simple. You’re doing this because you want them to sample your talents and once they know how excellent your work is, they will refer you to their friends and family. It pays to be friendly too so go ahead and ask your neighbors or scour the bulletin boards at the local community centre!

Alternatively, you can surf the Internet (like you always do) for websites you can improve on. Send an email with the usual sales pitch but do avoid putting down their websites. Nobody likes that. Instead, assure them that you will do a great job to revamp their site, all at an affordable price they will love!
