Yahoo has been working to garner better programmes for their web consumers to use in order to provide better websites and pay per click ads to the websites potential buyers. They have been struggling the past few years to remain a good search engine to use, faced a buyout, but have thus far been able to hold against that.
On June 22nd they announced the release of yet another new programme for improving local search engine advertising. They want smaller businesses to reach more consumers so Yahoo My Display Ads was created. The new advertising option allows for you to create the ad by yourself. You do not have to have a professional help you with your ads, thus saving more money for important things. The idea is to help the websites reach the 165+ million users that are on the internet.
Experts agree that the move was very wise. They are making search engine optimisation efforts easier for local businesses. It will help make things more profitable, as well as easier to obtain. Other search engines have been working on their local search ad options as well for the small business.
The new tool will help create catchy visual online ads, customise templates, create target ads, and be economical to the small business needs. There is even a choice in price models. There are definitely some downsides to the programme since they have not yet worked out the finer points. The advertising is for US only at the moment. The templates are very generic for use, which doesn’t give much creativity to the project. It is also not as cheap as other options, making it less economical for small businesses.
Once the bugs have been worked out of the system it will be a great tool, so familiarisation is imperative.
